YouTuber Starman3 Steals Music From Friends
PSA from your friendly neighbourhood Vizard, who’s currently in a not-so-friendly neighbourhood Vizard mood.
The attached video from Starman3’s YouTube contains music that he wasn’t given permission to use - of course, you’d expect him to deny that, which he did. For a clearer understanding of the situation, read on.
The music was made by Rexy, who you might recognize as a RadioSEGA DJ for SEGA Mixer Drive, an avid musician over on OverClocked Remix, and one of Sonic Paradox Remix Shorts/The Sonic Stadium Music Adventure’s talented contributors.
The tune, which is a remix of the Super Mario Bros. theme, was specifically made for the Silver Saturday Show, a weekly podcast hosted via RadioNintendo. Rexy specifically put together the tune as an intro theme for SilverSonic’s show.
Starman3 failed to ask either Rexy, SilverSonic, or RadioNintendo permission to use the tune tailored for SS’s show, and went on ahead to use it. It would’ve gone unnoticed, buuuuut that didn’t happen.
SilverSonic asked Starman3 to take the video down or to at least change the intro music… and the user in question is being unreasonably adamant. The latter also took to Twitter and called SS out as a troll, trying to make him look like the bad guy while playing off as the innocent victim.
Tl;dr, Starman3 committed the following no-no’s:
1. Did not credit Rexy properly (Random Remixer)
2. Stole her music made for SilverSonic’s RadioNintendo show
3. SilverSonic asks for it to be taken down, so Starman3 flames in return
4. Lets YouTube “fame” go to his head, thinks he’s invincible
If you can call him out on it via the comments/dislike the video/flag it/whatever, to at least try to dissuade him from using SilverSonic’s intro theme any further, that’d be very much appreciated.Reblogging this would be highly appreciated as well.
I think it’s really dumb that as soon as you turn 18, you’re supposed to know exactly what you want to do with your life. In my high school, you were required to fill out at least 2 college applications, even if you didn’t go or get accepted. But I think that’s bullshit….
You are good at something, stop lying to yourself. You’re good at breaking down comic book plots, cooking ramen perfectly, making your friends happy, knowing the time without looking at a clock, getting the perfect ending at RPG’s, or figuring out the twist ending to movies. Don’t let society tell you your talents are meaningless because they don’t serve an economical purpose. Your talents reflect your interests and passions, and what’s important to you is important.
